Skin tags are small, soft and skin coloured growths on the skin, attached to it by a thin stalk-like base giving the impression the skin tag is hanging off. They are entirely harmless but can cause symptoms and may be a cosmetic nuisance.
Skin tags will often be found in areas of the body where the skin rubs together or where there is a skin fold. Common sites include around the neck, armpits, eyelids, under the breasts, groins and around the bottom.
Their size varies, most being only a couple of millimetres in size, but some can be several centimetres.
The vast majority of skin tags will not bother you. However, due to the location of some of them, they can catch, itch, cause discomfort or pain, and if injured enough some may even bleed.

I had a skin tag removal on my eyelid and I was really quite appreciative about having it done.
